The Weimbs organ building team
Our Weimbs Orgelbau workshop currently has 18 permanent employees. Each and every one of them contributes their expertise in their respective specialty. Our common goal is to produce the best organs from the Weimbs workshop.
In order to be able to meet this high standard, we need team spirit, many years of experience and the common pursuit of perfection. These qualities are common to all our employees; the team, which has now been working together for decades, has grown into a family.
Whether carpenter, designer, builder, pipe maker, restorer, voicer or accountant, it is only because everyone puts all their special skills and energy into their work and is enthusiastic about the organ that the Weimbs Orgelbau workshop can produce such unique works. In Japan, Norway and other countries, as well as in the small Eifel village – the task is new for every order. Our employees face up to these challenges, develop suitable working methods and look for new solutions.
No matter what job title someone has: At Weimbs Orgelbau, sooner or later everyone becomes an architect, craftsman and musician. The creativity in organ building is contagious. It continues among the organists, who continue to discover new things about Weimbs organs throughout their lives and are inspired by the artistically created instruments.
The prerequisite for this is that we continue to study the proven techniques in detail and develop them further. This includes, for example, the pneumatic control of organs, the construction of cone chests or the restoration of historical pipe stocks in line with the requirements of listed buildings. The Weimbs company also pays great attention to organ maintenance. Our dedicated employees use their in-depth technical knowledge to ensure that the instruments entrusted to us are always in perfect condition.
The fourth generation is now at work at Weimbs. Frank Weimbs has also made the family business known in distant countries. It goes without saying that the specialist knowledge is passed on continuously. In this way, we can offer our customers perfect service for all organ-building situations, regardless of when an organ was built or according to which system it was built.

Management
Technical and Commercial Operations Management
The employees of Weimbs Orgelbau are proud to create works of art that will not soon outlive their usefulness. On the contrary: our organs not only delight the people around us. We use our energy and imagination to ensure that Weimbs organs continue to bring joy to many generations to come.
To ensure that this remains the case in the future, the Weimbs company not only maintains organs, but also tries to keep its employees in the proven team. Wherever possible, we take family situations and special burdens into account. We are also happy to support older or disabled employees according to their abilities and talents. We also attach great importance to ensuring that all our employees always receive highly qualified further training. We make sure that as many different areas of responsibility as possible are taken on. For example, as many of our employees as possible receive a first aid course. In addition to regular attendance at specialist events, further training also includes constant exchange with internationally recognized colleagues. Last but not least, we all like to listen to good music and enjoy the lively contact with the many artists who have been associated with Haus Weimbs, some of them for decades. We are particularly pleased that the scene is constantly being revitalized by promising young talents of international standing.
Ecological aspects and our customers’ sensitivity to them characterize the day-to-day work at Orgelbau Weimbs. We use ecologically and sustainably produced woods. All materials and consumables are checked for their recyclability. In the manufacture of organ pipes in particular, metal scraps are carefully recycled. Our company building is heated with wood waste. We mainly use natural oils for surface treatment. Generous skylights provide a healthy working atmosphere and eliminate the need for artificial lighting during the day. A photovoltaic system was installed above the new carport.
In this way, the Weimbs Orgelbau workshop will be able to continue to offer outstanding quality in the future and combine centuries of proven organ building craftsmanship with new technology.
Mr. Friedbert Weimbs stepped down from the management team in 2023. Today, he applies his many years of experience and keen intuition specifically to providing acoustic consulting for organ projects. He assists church congregations as well as the company’s own young talent with matters of voicing and sound design. In addition, he oversees the maintenance and further development of the company’s archive.
