— Reorganisation of the Peter Organ —
A massive drop in wind pressure, technical problems in the electrical control system, criticism of intonation – if we are to describe the initial situation for us, then these few words are perhaps the most appropriate.
Since the electrical wiring and also some other components of the power supply of the Peter organ from 1963 no longer corresponded to the currently valid fire protection regulations, we have recommended that the remaining electrical components still permitted to be disposed of. Therefore, the technical and sound possibilities were compared for a renovation of the existing electrical system and for a possible new electronic control system with extended operating components. It was not so much a question of overloading the quite small Peter organ with a new control system, but rather of expanding the inevitably limited sonic possibilities of such a small disposition. Especially the smaller instruments gain significantly from the new operating possibilities possible today.
In order not to disfigure the old, basically even visually appealing arrangement of the stop switches with countless additional switches for the couplers or other additional functions, we have considered a so-called coupling navigator. This coupling navigator allows with only very few buttons the switching of all sub and super couplers in all devisions as well as it offers in addition in all devisions the very interesting possibility of the “unison-off” function. In addition, there is the highly coveted function of “floating divisions”.

But the best technique is helpless without a good organ sound. Therefore, the organ was fundamentally re-voiced. Further information can be found at the following link of the choir association Cantare Repelen.

By using a BUS-system, it is basically possible to use the mobile console throughout the entire church.
This allows it to be optimally positioned for any application.

The control parts originally mounted on the magnets were very difficult to reach for maintenance work. Therefore, we have now only mounted a connection block on the magnets and placed the new control parts in the easily accessible new control cabinets of the action control.
