— New organ for Doshisha Junior und Senior Highschool —
Already during the construction of the chapel of the Doshisha Junior and Senior High School the location of a future organ was accounted for. After reviewing the bids and visiting various reference projects, we were happy to have received the comission to build this new organ.
Already in the planning phase, the organist Ms. Jun Sagawa and her predecessor at the school, Mr. Yoshito Tsuda, have been intensively involved in the project. The instrument has 35 stops over 3 manuals and pedal. The ceremony for the delivery of the organ was held on 4 November 2017.
We were very appreciative of the trust placed in us and are proud of our first new organ built in Japan
In addition to a nightingale, the instrument also has a carillon and a marimbaphone as additional stops. Both percussion instruments have a repetition function and the marimbaphone is additionally touch dynamic. Two special interval couplers above the III. Manual for the Swell division and the pedal make great use during improvisations especially through they direct accessibility and ease of operation. Other applications of the sequencer and action control systems can be operated via a touch-screen.
