— Reorganisation of the Breil organ (1930) —

The instrument of the company Breil of Dorsten was completed in 1930. It has a total of 57 stops, divided into three manuals and pedal. Manual II and III are both housed in Swell boxes, which are arranged side by side below the Great division. The large pedal division is at floor level. The windchests, which are made exclusively as cone chests, are controlled electropneumatically. The wind supply consists of a total of two wind generators and two larger swimmer bellows. The large five-manual console from 1987 serves as a general console (another instrument is placed in the choir). The original console was removed in 1965 and the successor console is no longer available too. Acoustically, the instrument is difficult to describe in a nut shell. The essentially romantic type shows already the first signs of the evolving organ movement. As with many other instruments, over the years there have been executed alterations due to changes in sound ideals. At the beginning of 2010 we cleaned and reorganized the organ. At Pentecost 2010, the organ was put back into the service to the church in a solemn ceremony.
