— new organ —
The Protestant Church in Kråkerøy (Norway) was extensively renovated in 2019 to 2021. In the back of the church there are historic case elements of an organ by Olsen & Jörgensen from 1910.
Due to the lowered center section, the prospect design of the new organ allows the center round arch of the historic organ case to be visible. Visually, the historic organ prospect appears to be part of the new organ. The console is centrally positioned freestanding in front of the organ with the organist’s back to the organ, as Olsen & Jörgensen often built. A historical bridge is created here as well.
The visible organ case houses the two manual divisions. The pedal is divided into C and Cs side behind it in the area of the round arch. The organ case is mainly made of solid fine-grained ash wood and finally treated with a yellow-pigmented oil to match other wood fixtures in the church interior.
All wind chests are constructed as classical slider chests with mechanical key and electric stop action. The sound concept is based on an organ with two fundamental manuals in the classical romantic style. The church congregation was in possession of some wooden pipe stops by Olsen & Jörgensen, which we restored and now have found their place again in the new organ.
