— Reorganisation —
In the course of an extensive renovation of the church interior, the organ was also extensively renovated, reorganized and redesigned.
The organ goes back to the Klais company and dates from 1936. At that time it had 24 stops and was located in the common room of the provincial fire insurance company in Düsseldorf-Friedrichstadt. In 1970 the instrument was dismantled by Opitz Orgelbau from Witten and stored in Düsseldorf-Wersten before they rebuilt the organ in Düsseldorf-Eller in 1977.
In 1991 we manufactured a new three-manual console with a coupler manual and since then we have maintained and serviced the organ in St. Gertrud.
In addition to the redesign of the organ prospectus, the reorganization also included the extension of the organ with an additional swell. In total, the organ has now three swell-boxes. The new console was largely designed together with the responsible organist and esteemed composer Christoph Ritter.
In addition to a very innovative system for controlling the floating division and a freely programmable coupling system, the modern action system also offers a very special mixture setter.
