— 1st prize in the competition “New Organ for the Holy Spirit Church” in Hanau —
In joint enterprise with the architects of HHS Planer + Architekten AG of Kassel, we have been awarded the 1st place for the design and conception of the planned organ building for the Holy Spirit Church in Hanau.
For the Holy Spirit Church in Hanau Lamboy, built in the 1950s, the parish has launched a competition for the redesign of an organ with a total of 23 stops. The design awarded by the jury with the first prize by the team HHS Planner + Architects AG and the organ builder Weimbs responds to the monolithic with stone masonry and reinforced concrete construction elements embossed church with an equally purist design of the organ front. The conception of the organ front explains it’s function in principle: the prospectus shows selected organ pipes and hides what is not to be shown.

The design adopts the passe-par tout principle and varies the theme: many cut-outs that run across the passe-par tout at different lengths – seemingly from above – give a view to individual organ pipes lying behind them. The jury commended the disciplined calm of the front design in the greater picture and praises the restrained appearance, which nevertheless makes a confident statement in the room.
